Our Core Privacy Guarantees

We adhere strictly to data minimization principles. We only store public Discord snowflake IDs strictly necessary to count giveaway tickets and draw fair winners. We never sell, rent, or monetize your data. We never read your chat messages, passwords, or personal credentials.

1. Information We Collect

When ovun is added to a Discord server, or when you interact with a giveaway, the Bot records only the minimal technical data required to execute giveaway operations:

  • Discord User ID (Snowflake): Recorded when you click 🎉 Enter to register your participation, verify account age requirements, and award bonus role entries.
  • Guild & Channel IDs: Stored to remember server preferences (such as giveaway manager roles, audit log channels, and custom embed accent colors) and to identify where giveaways originate.
  • Message IDs: To identify and update the active giveaway embed message and its interactive button counters.
  • Timestamps & Ticket Counts: Recorded when an entry occurs and when a giveaway ends, enabling auditability and fair weighted RNG lotteries.

2. What We Explicitly NEVER Collect

To maintain the highest security and privacy standards, ovun does NOT collect, inspect, or store:

  • Personal email addresses, real names, phone numbers, or physical addresses.
  • Passwords, tokens, or Discord login credentials.
  • Credit cards, bank details, or financial payment data.
  • The text content of your Discord server chat messages or private direct messages (DMs).
  • Voice channel audio, video streams, or screen shares.

3. How Collected Data is Used

Any data stored in ovun's internal SQLite database is used strictly for technical bot execution:

  • Preventing duplicate entries by the same user in a single giveaway.
  • Verifying that a participant meets server-defined role requirements or minimum account age criteria.
  • Weighting entries for users holding bonus multiplier roles (e.g., Server Boosters or VIPs).
  • Selecting unmanipulated, cryptographically random winners via crypto.randomInt.
  • Dispatching direct congratulatory messages (DMs) to winners.
  • Generating optional .csv spreadsheet exports requested by server managers.

4. Third-Party Sharing & Zero Data Selling

Under no circumstances do we sell, rent, commercialize, or trade your data with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing entities.

ovun communicates solely with Discord's official APIs over encrypted TLS/WSS connections. No external advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, or third-party behavioral analytics are embedded in the Bot.

5. Data Storage & Security Architecture

All operational records are maintained in a secure, local SQLite database utilizing Write-Ahead Logging (WAL) hosted on our private server infrastructure. Access to production database files is strictly restricted to core authorized developers via SSH keys.

6. Data Retention & Right to Be Forgotten

We fully respect your rights regarding data control:

  • Self-Service Entry Withdrawal: You can withdraw your entry from an active giveaway at any moment simply by clicking the 🎉 Enter button a second time. Your entry row is immediately deleted from the database.
  • Guild Data Removal: When ovun is removed or kicked from a server, all active operations on that server cease immediately.
  • Complete Erasure Requests: If you wish to have all historical participation rows associated with your Discord User ID permanently expunged, submit a request via our support server, and our team will execute a full database wipe of your records.
